Steve Westcott
![]() Born and raised on the Wirral, Steve Westcott only succumbed to the writing bug eleven years ago, soon after moving to that jewel in the Irish Sea, the Isle of Man. He lives in an old farmhouse in the north of the island with his wife Carole, two children, Michael and Samantha, and a collection of dogs, cats, horses and motorbikes. Of all the pets, his Triumph 955 Speed Triple is his favourite. Steve's first novel, Reluctant Heroes, originally came out in 2003, but has since made a reappearance with a new publisher. Released in October 2007, the second edition has received great reviews from the genre press and sales have now intruded into the US market, where he hopes sales will continue to grow. His second novel, and book two in the Black Dragon Trilogy, Cronan the Librarian, was released in March 2008 and continues to garner favourable attention. Steve tells us book three, as yet untitled, is well on the way to completion for a late 2009 release, but has a stand-alone novel, Bruvvers in Arms, scheduled for release early that year. Watch out for further news at P-Con VI. As a writer of humourous fantasy, Steve finds the age of his readership varying from YA to adult, a market sector he is happy to sit in. But humour is not his only skill, he is currently 40,000 words into a serious scfi thriller, which he hopes to complete by the end of the year. In addition, Steve has a humorous short story coming out in November 2008 in the Tail For All Seasons anthology with Priory Press, a tome set in and around the Isle of Man where there is a story relating to each month of the year. 2009 looks to be a busy year for Steve on the writing front, but he is very much looking forward to attending the convention and meeting up with friends, both old and new. |
